Show dogs may not save people’s lives or catch criminals, but they must be extremely well trained nonetheless. The dog, of course, must also have some qualities that make him a good candidate for this kind of training. Oftentimes a qualified handler will put the dog to test before entering a show and will prepare the dog for participation. The judges in a show will hold your dog to the highest standards of performance. The judges will rate your dog on mannerisms, posture and the way they handle the routine. There are obedience competitions that will ask your dog to perform an array of commands presented to them. Even though these animals create wonderful pets for your residence, many other functions can be served by them also. Superiorly trained dogs could do tasks that may facilitate saving the lives of people or fighting crime, or they could show impressively at a dog exhibit.
